Dumping switch - a turnout without a crossing, in which safe movement of rolling stock is provided only along one direction (along the straight or side track). To prevent entry onto an occupied track, the switch is set in the direction where there is no railway track - to "dump". In this case, when moving along the turnout set to "dump", intentional derailment ("dumping") of rolling stock from the rails occurs, thereby achieving reliable protection of the main route (track)
