Bleeding
4.1. Bleeding is the outflow of blood from a vessel as a result of its injury or complications of certain diseases.
4.2. The following types of bleeding are distinguished:
(01) capillary - occurs with superficial wounds, blood oozes in the smallest droplets. To stop the bleeding, it is sufficient to press a gauze pad against the injured area or apply a slightly compressive sterile bandage;
(02) venous - blood is dark red in color, flows out in an even stream;
(03) arterial - blood is bright red in color, is ejected upward in a pulsating stream (fountain);
(04) mixed - occurs when both veins and arteries bleed simultaneously from the wound. This is observed with deep wounds.
