Insulation of non-current-carrying parts


Insulation of non-current-carrying parts (protective insulation): a measure to protect against electric shock when touching metallic non-current-carrying parts that may become live as a result of insulation damage. The principle of operation is based on covering non-current-carrying parts with insulating material in specific justified cases or isolating them from current-carrying parts
