Remission of Debt
An obligation is terminated by the creditor releasing the debtor from the obligations lying upon him, provided that this does not violate the rights of other persons concerning the creditor's property

Forgiveness of a debt constitutes the creditor releasing the debtor from an obligation involving property. In this regard, forgiveness of a debt is a type of gift (Article 572 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation), and therefore it must comply with the restrictions established by Article 575 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, according to paragraph 4 of which a gift is not allowed in relations between commercial organizations
