5. Spectrometers. These instruments are used for measuring wavelengths of emission and absorption spectra. They mainly consist of an adjustable slit collimator (through which the analyzed light beam passes), one or several adjustable prisms, a telescope, and a prism table. Some spectrometers (particularly those used for infrared or ultraviolet rays) are equipped with prisms or diffraction gratings
