Tempered glass: flat glass subjected to special thermal treatment by heating and rapid cooling, as a result of which the outer layers of the glass transition into a state of strong compression, while the inner layers transition into a state of tension, forming a system of stresses in the glass that ensures its increased mechanical and thermal strength, as well as a safe mode of failure (without formation of large fragments)
