Gulf

In these articles, a gulf is understood to mean a well-defined coastal indentation extending inland to such an extent, in relation to the width of its entrance, as to contain enclosed waters and form something more than a simple meander of the coast. However, an indentation shall not be regarded as a gulf if its area is neither equal nor greater than that of a semicircle whose diameter is the line crossing the entrance to this indentation.
