Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
Automatic Gain Control (AGC) is a camera property that adjusts the gain coefficient of the video signal path depending on the level of the video signal: AGC smooths out variations in signal level and allows obtaining an acceptable image on the monitor when the object's illumination is insufficient. Usually, the gain adjustment range is limited to 12 - 20 dB (4 - 10 times), as a greater increase in gain leads to significant noise in the video signal and, consequently, deterioration of the image quality
