"clearance of railway rolling stock" - the transverse outline perpendicular to the track axis within which, without projecting outward, the railway rolling stock, both empty and loaded, must be accommodated when placed on a straight horizontal track (in the most unfavorable position in the rail gauge and absence of lateral tilting on the springs and dynamic oscillations), including those with maximum allowable wear;
