Video Motion Detector
A motion video detector is an electronic module that stores the current image from a camera in memory and triggers an alarm when changes occur in the protected area. Motion video detectors are primarily used in security systems for large facilities, where operators have to monitor a large number of cameras. There are analog and digital motion detectors. The simplest and cheapest are analog detectors, whose operation can, under certain assumptions, be compared to that of security sensors connected to alarm inputs of switches, quad splitters, etc. Digital motion video detectors are multi-channel devices that allow each protected area to be divided into separate blocks, for which individual activation thresholds can be set - the higher this threshold, the greater the changes must occur on the "image". In addition, characteristics of movement (start of movement, direction, speed, etc.) can be programmed. This allows, for example, not to perceive a person moving away from the protected object or parallel to it at some safe distance as a violator. The setup of the system with digital detectors to an optimal mode should be carried out taking into account the features of the location where the camera is installed and the characteristics of the protected object (potential movement paths of the violator, presence of vulnerable areas, etc.), otherwise it is difficult to avoid a large number of false alarms or, on the contrary, missing the violator. Digital motion video detectors are used in complex high-class CCTV systems
