Mine-Tectonic Shock
Mine-tectonic shock - an instantaneous destruction of ore (rock) within a massif, causing brittle damage in workings and pillars in the form of a mine shock, usually over large areas. A mine-tectonic shock is accompanied by strong shaking of the massif, a sharp sound, formation of dust and an air wave. Coordinates of shocks can be determined only using a seismostation specifically constructed at the deposit
