Mine rescue equipment (MRE) - equipment used by mine rescue units for saving people and eliminating underground accidents. MRE includes gas protection (mine) respirators, shaft self-rescuers, individual and group protective means against high temperature and humidity of mine air, means for extinguishing underground fires, as well as devices for lowering and raising people, communication and control equipment used during mine rescue operations in mines
