External boundary of the continental shelf
Taking into account the provisions of Article 2 of this Federal law, the external boundary of the continental shelf is located at a distance of 200 nautical miles from the baseline from which the width of the territorial sea is measured, provided that the external boundary of the continental margin does not extend beyond a distance of more than 200 nautical miles.
If the continental margin extends beyond a distance of 200 nautical miles from the aforementioned baselines, the external boundary of the continental shelf coincides with the external boundary of the continental margin as determined in accordance with the norms of international law.
