Auto-Iris
Autoiris - the camera's ability to control lenses with electronically adjustable aperture and built-in amplifier (when controlling a lens without a built-in amplifier, the term "direct control" is used). The presence of autoiris is a significant advantage of the camera, as adjusting the depth of field without changing the aperture is fundamentally impossible. This means that when using electronic shutter control in the CCD matrix (without controlling the lens aperture), the image of an object located at a distance different from the focal length will be insufficiently sharp. In addition, the absence of aperture adjustment leads to a significant reduction in the range of light flow control. Autoiris should not be used together with an electronic iris, especially if the camera is not synchronized with the frequency of alternating current, as this may result in the appearance of a "floating" brightness or white balance effect on the video monitor screen, which significantly complicates the operator's work. For connecting a lens with an electronically controlled aperture, the camera must be equipped with AI (auto iris) and/or DD/DC (direct drive) connectors and a potentiometer for adjusting the direct drive signal level.
