Roofing Shingle
A roofing shingle is a piece of wood cut along its length, typically having a thickness of more than 5 mm at one end (the butt end) and less than 5 mm at the other end (the top end). The shingle may be cut such that its edges are parallel; the butt end may be cut at a right angle to the edges or have a rounded or other shape. One of the surfaces may be sanded along its entire length from the butt end to the top end, or may have grooves also along its entire length
