Postodiplostomosis


Postodiplostomosis (postodiplostomiasis, neascus, black-pigmented or ink-like disease) - a disease of freshwater fish caused by metacercariae of a digenetic trematode - the trematode Posthodiplostomum cuticola of the genus Posthodiplostomum (family Diplostomidae, class Trematoda), characterized by deposition of black pigment in areas of affected skin tissues of fish.

Localization sites of the parasite in fish: skin, fins, gills, subcutaneous muscle, mucous membrane of the mouth, cornea of the eye
