Selenium compounds


1. Hydrogen selenide (H2Se). A nauseating gas dangerous to inhale as it causes olfactory disturbances. Exists in the form of unstable aqueous solutions.

2. Selenious acid (H2SeO3) and its anhydride (SeO2). Hexagonal white crystals, melting, well soluble in water, used in the production of enamels.

3. Selenic acid (H2SeO4). White crystals, anhydrous or hydrated
