Bromine compounds
1. Hydrogen bromide (HBr). This is a colorless gas with a strong pungent odor. It can be stored under pressure or in the form of aqueous solutions (hydrobromic acid), which slowly decompose in air (especially under the influence of light). Hydrobromic acid is used for producing bromides and in organic synthesis.
