Declaration of a Citizen as Deceased


1. A citizen may be declared deceased by a court if there are no records of his whereabouts in his place of residence for five years, or if he has gone missing under circumstances threatening death or giving grounds to assume his death from a specific accident — within six months.

2. A military serviceman or other citizen who has gone missing without trace in connection with hostilities may be declared deceased by a court not earlier than two years after the end of hostilities
