Calculated freeboard height of the ship
Calculating the deck height:
a) The calculated deck height (D) is the theoretical deck height at the midship plus the thickness of the plating stringer of the upper deck, if present, plus T(L-S)/L, if the open deck of the upper side has a covering,
where T - the average thickness of the covering of the open grating outside the deck openings and
S - the total length of superstructures, as defined in sub-paragraph 10 "d" of this rule.
b) The calculated deck height (D) on a ship having a rounded connection between the deck and the side with a radius greater than four percent of the breadth (B), or any other unusual connection, is the height of the side of a ship having a midship section with vertical sides at the top, with the same beam hogging and area of the upper part of the section equal to the area of the upper part of the actual midship section
