Clinical Decision Threshold
Clinical decision threshold: a numerical value of a specific analyte adopted on the basis of experimental data as a criterion for the presence or absence of significant shifts in the internal environment and corresponding clinical manifestations in the examined individual, and an objective basis for making decisions regarding assessment of the patient's condition and application of therapeutic measures.
Notes
1. Decision thresholds of many tests are related to several diseases.
2. For more accurate diagnosis of clinical conditions, multiple decision thresholds (usually three) may be established for a test.
