Global System for Mobile Communications
Global System for Mobile Communications: a mobile radio telephone system, the parameters of which were developed on the basis of international cooperation by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). In international practice, the system is denoted by the acronym "GSM" (Global System for Mobile communications - Global System for Mobile communications). The system is based on frequency-time division of radio channels and in the Russian Federation uses the frequency bands 900 MHz and 1800 MHz
