Identification Marks of an Aircraft

1. Upon inclusion of data on a civil aircraft into the State Register of Civil Aircraft of the Russian Federation, state and registration identification marks are assigned to this aircraft, which are applied to the aircraft.

2. Marks of state ownership and accounting identification marks are applied to state-owned aircraft.

2.1. As marks of state ownership on state-owned aircraft are applied:

1) on military transport aircraft used for

1) on aircraft engaged in flights outside the Russian Federation, - depiction of the State Flag of the Russian Federation;

2) on state aviation aircraft used for military, border, police, customs services, as well as for performing mobilization and defense tasks, - marks of state affiliation established by the Government of the Russian Federation.

2.2. Accounting identification marks are applied to experimental aircraft.

Additional identification marks, aircraft registration numbers, proper names, trademarks, and heraldic symbols registered in accordance with established procedures by the authorized body in the field of defense and other authorized bodies having subdivisions of state aviation and experimental aviation may be applied to government and experimental aircraft.

In addition to state and registration identification marks, a civil aircraft must bear an image of the State Flag of the Russian Federation; images of the flag of a subject of the Russian Federation may be applied, as well as trademarks—symbols, inscriptions, emblems, and other signs registered in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. The image of the State Flag of the Russian Federation must be placed above the image of the flag of a subject of the Russian Federation and in size should be larger than the size of the image of the flag of a subject of the Russian Federation
