Federal Tax Service of Russia (FNS Russia)
1. The Federal Tax Service of Russia (FNS Russia) is a federal executive body performing functions relating to supervision and oversight over compliance with legislation on taxes and fees, correctness of calculation, completeness, and timeliness of payment into the relevant budget of taxes and fees in cases provided for by Russian Federation legislation, correctness of calculation, completeness, and timeliness of payment into the relevant budget of other mandatory payments, as well as functions relating to production and circulation of tobacco products, and also performing the functions of a currency control agent within the competence of tax authorities.

The Service is an authorized federal executive body responsible for state registration of legal entities, physical persons as individual entrepreneurs and peasant (farmer) households, as well as an authorized federal executive body ensuring the submission in bankruptcy cases and bankruptcy procedures of claims for payment of mandatory payments and claims of the Russian Federation under monetary obligations
