Alternative (Imputed) Costs

Alternative (imputed) costs - the opportunity cost of alternative use of working capital tied up in an organization's current assets. For example, in agriculture, where production factors are limited, expanding one sector will limit other sectors that use the same factors, i.e., an opportunity cost arises from reducing other sectors or technologies. At the same time, opportunity cost is also a type of cost. However, their registration falls outside the scope of traditional accounting (financial) records and is not reflected in practice. This opportunity cost manifests as imputed costs

costs and are additional (alternative) expenses, which can be calculated in the management accounting system when determining the economic efficiency of in-house production
