Amoebiasis
Amoebiasis is a disease caused by pathogenic strains of Entamoeba histolytica, which are widely distributed around the world, primarily in countries with tropical and subtropical climates. The low level of sanitation characteristic of these regions and the presence of highly virulent strains contribute to a high incidence rate of amoebiasis. At present, amoebiasis represents one of the largest medical and social problems for populations in developing countries and is one of the most common causes of death from intestinal parasitic diseases
