Catatonic Hyperkinesis
Catatonic hyperkinesis - motor excitement characterized by predominance of motor and speech stereotypies (monotonous repetition by the patient of the same words and phrases or movements, grimacing, affective incongruence, elaborate movements and postures, inappropriateness of facial expression to affect, impulsivity of actions and individual movements, negativism, ambivalence, automatic repetition of speech (echolalia) and movements (echopraxia) of others, disturbances of thinking (in the form of fragmentation or incoherence) and speech - verbigeration, palilalia). It may be accompanied by automated, unconscious actions, hallucinations, delusions. Anxious-depressive hyperkinesis (melancholic rapturn) - motor excitement combined with hopeless despair, painful, unbearable sorrow, moaning, weeping, attempts at self-harm. Anxious excitement - general motor restlessness (agitation) with anxiety and fear of varying intensity (from "nervous" scratching of the neck to hitting one's head against a wall). Epileptic (epileptiform) excitement is accompanied by dysphoria or twilight consciousness, aggressive actions (up to inflicting injuries, murder) or ecstatic rapture with hallucinations. Panic excitement - meaningless, sometimes in the form of "motor storm," occurs during sudden very strong shocks
