Butorphanol (Stadol, Moradol)

Butorphanol (Stadol, Moradol) and nalbuphine (Nubain) are synthetic mixed opioid agonist-antagonists. As analgesics, they are inferior to buprenorphine, morphine, and fentanyl. These opioids exert less pronounced respiratory depression at analgesic doses than morphine, do not affect gastrointestinal motility, urinary and bile ducts. The side effects of both drugs are dose-dependent and may manifest as sedation, nausea, dizziness.

Butorphanol can also have an activating effect on the circulatory system (increase in arterial blood pressure mainly in the pulmonary circulation) and the psychoemotional sphere (dysphoria, rarely hallucinations)
