Phenols


Phenols are benzene derivatives containing one or more hydroxyl groups. The group of hydroxybenzene derivatives, referred to by the term "volatile phenols," includes a series of compounds distilled with steam. Usually, they include phenol, cresols, xylenols, ethylphenols, guaiacol and some other phenol derivatives with small alkyl radicals
