Pyrophoric Alloys
Pyrophoric alloys are alloys that, when rubbed against a rough surface, produce a spark sufficient to ignite gas, gasoline, tinder, or other flammable materials. These alloys consist of cerium combined with other metals, with the most common combination being cerium and iron—ferrocerium.
