Periods of Passenger Carriage
Passenger transportation includes the following periods:
with respect to the passenger and his cabin baggage - the period during which the passenger and (or) his cabin baggage are on board the vessel, the boarding and disembarking period of the passenger, as well as the period during which the passenger and his cabin baggage are transported by water from the shore to the vessel or vice versa, if the cost of such transportation is included in the ticket price or the vessel used for such auxiliary transportation is made available to the passenger by the carrier. With respect to the passenger, transportation does not include the period during which the passenger is at a maritime terminal, pier or any other port facility or on it;
with respect to cabin baggage - also the period during which the passenger is at a maritime terminal, pier or any other port facility or on it, if this baggage has been accepted by the carrier, its employee or agent and not yet issued to the passenger;
with respect to other luggage that is not cabin luggage, - the period from the moment such luggage is accepted by the carrier, its employee or agent on shore or aboard the ship until the moment such luggage is handed over by the carrier, its employee or agent to the passenger
