Rating of Insurance Organizations

Rating - an assessment of the solvency (creditworthiness) of an organization, based on the evaluation of risk factors, and representing a comprehensive assessment of the organization's ability to fully and timely fulfill its obligations taking into account the forecast of possible changes in the economic environment and socio-political situation.

The rating scale used by rating agencies consists of four classes (A, B, C and D), which characterize different levels of reliability. Each class is divided into levels (usually no more than three), denoted by rating agencies with several letters.

Each level is further divided into sub-levels, denoted by rating agencies with various indices "+", " ", "-", or "1", "2", "3" or "++", "+", " " and so on, indicating the first, second, and third degree of reliability within the rating level.
