Physical (agricultural) degradation of land
b) Physical (agricultural) degradation of soils includes processes that disrupt soil structure, worsen the complex of their physical properties and lead to deterioration of water-air and other regimes, as well as the physical conditions for existence of soil biota and plants. Physical degradation is caused by low agricultural practices; violations or miscalculations in the operation of irrigation systems, etc. The consequences of physical degradation manifest themselves in the form of reduced soil fertility, depletion of soil biota, defluviation, slaking, unfavorable redistribution of surface water, local wetting and physical drought. In most cases, physical degradation is the primary cause of intensification of erosion processes
