Proved reserves of oil and gas (Category A)
33. Category A (reliable) - reserves of a deposit or its part drilled by an operational well pattern in accordance with the development project documentation. The geological structure, shape and size of the deposit are defined, and fluid contacts are substantiated based on drilling, sampling and well logging data. Lithological composition, type of reservoirs, effective and oil- and gas-saturated thicknesses, filtration-capacity properties and oil- and gas-saturation, composition and properties of hydrocarbons under reservoir and standard conditions, as well as technological characteristics of the deposit (operating mode, oil, gas, condensate production rates, well productivity) are established based on data from well operation, hydraulic and piezometric conductivity of the formation, reservoir pressure, temperature, displacement coefficients studied with a level of detail sufficient for constructing multidimensional geological and filtration models of the deposit with high reliability. The profitable development of the deposit is defined by the project technological documentation for development and confirmed by actual production.
Category A includes:
1) reserves of industrially developed deposits (or their parts), drained by production wells using implemented development technologies in accordance with the project documentation for development;
2) reserves of industrially developed deposits (or their parts), which on the date of calculation, for various reasons, are not drained (in the area of idle wells), whose commissioning for development is economically justified and will not require significant additional capital expenditures;
3) reserves of a developing deposit (or its part), which can be additionally economically profitably extracted from the geological reserves of this deposit by applying industrially developed methods of increasing oil recovery (EOR);
4) reserves that can be additionally extracted from the geological reserves of this deposit due to densification of the primary network of production wells
