Acute poliomyelitis

2.1. Acute poliomyelitis is a viral infectious disease characterized by a variety of clinical forms - from abortive to paralytic. Paralytic forms occur when the virus affects the gray matter located in the anterior horns of the spinal cord and the motor nuclei of the cranial nerves. Clinically, this manifests as the development of flaccid and peripheral paresis and/or paralysis
