Consumption of Fixed Capital

Consumption of fixed capital according to the methodological principles of the System of National Accounts (SNA) is defined as the decrease in the current market value of the stock of fixed assets owned and used by the producer during the reporting period, resulting from physical depreciation, obsolescence or normal accidental damage. The consumption of fixed capital does not include the value of assets destroyed as a result of military actions or natural disasters, which are reflected on the account of other changes in the volume of assets.
