Disposable income of households

Disposable income is obtained by adding all current transfers received by households to their primary incomes, excluding in-kind social transfers, and subtracting all current transfers paid out, excluding in-kind social transfers.

Disposable income can be defined as the maximum amount that households can afford to spend on final consumption of goods and services during a given reporting period without reducing cash holdings, liquidating assets, or increasing liabilities.

Adjusted disposable income is derived from household disposable income by adding the value of received in-kind social transfers and subtracting the value of transferred in-kind social transfers.
