1. The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB Russia) is a federal executive body, within its authority carrying out state management in the field of ensuring the security of the Russian Federation, combating terrorism, protecting and guarding the state border of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the state border), protecting internal waters, territorial sea, exclusive economic zone, continental shelf of the Russian Federation and their natural resources, ensuring information security of the Russian Federation, directly implementing the main directions of activities of the federal security service bodies defined by the legislation of the Russian Federation, as well as coordinating counterintelligence activities of federal executive bodies having the right to carry it out
