Libraries of higher education institutions
University libraries: libraries primarily serving students and teaching staff of universities and other tertiary educational institutions. They may also be open to the general public. The following categories should be distinguished:
i) the main or central library, or a group of libraries that may be located in different premises but are under the supervision of a single director;
ii) institute or faculty libraries of universities that are not administratively subordinate to the university's central library;
iii) libraries
higher education institutions that are not part of a university
