Carbon Dioxide Poisoning

Carbon dioxide poisoning represents a pathological condition arising due to disruption of carbon dioxide elimination from the body and an increase in its partial pressure in tissues. Carbon dioxide poisoning in divers typically occurs as a result of accumulation of carbon dioxide for various reasons in the breathing gas mixture when using diving equipment or during stay in a hyperbaric chamber. In diving practice, primary hypercapnia is distinguished, as well as secondary hypercapnia representing etiopathogenic factors of other specific and nonspecific diseases of divers
