Architectural Heritage


For the purposes of this Convention, the term "architectural heritage" includes the following immovable property:

1) monuments, all buildings and structures that clearly present historical, archaeological, artistic, scientific, social or technical interest, including their fittings and furnishings;

2) groups of buildings: homogeneous groups of urban or rural buildings presenting clear historical, archaeological, artistic, scientific, social and technical interest, which are sufficiently interconnected to be identifiable topographically;

3) sites: the combined works of man and nature, consisting of partially built-up places that are distinctive and homogeneous enough to be identifiable topographically, and clearly present historical, archaeological, artistic, scientific, social or technical interest.
