Peaceful Use (Peaceful Purposes)
9. "Peaceful use" or "peaceful purposes" include the use of information, nuclear material, moderator material, equipment and components in such areas as scientific research, power generation, medicine, agriculture and industry, excluding their use as part of any nuclear explosive devices, or for the research or development of any nuclear explosive devices, or for any military purpose.
Military purposes do not include energy supply to military bases obtained from any energy grid, production of radioisotopes for use in medical purposes in military hospitals, and other similar purposes that may be agreed upon by the Parties.
