A time charterparty — under a time charterparty (time charter), the shipowner is obliged for a specified fee (freight) to provide the charterer with the vessel and services of the ship's crew for use over a defined period for the carriage of cargo, passengers or for other purposes of commercial shipping (ceased to be in force as of 2019-11-26)1.
