2.1.11. A channel is an open structure intended for laying wires and cables on it.

A channel does not provide protection against external mechanical damage to wires and cables laid on it. Channels shall be manufactured from non-combustible materials. They may be solid, perforated or grating. Channels may be used in rooms and outdoor installations
