Roadside strip of a motorway
Shoulder of a road - areas adjacent to both sides of the right-of-way of a first, second or third category automobile road, within which special land use regimes for land plots (parts of land plots) are established in order to ensure traffic safety requirements, as well as normal conditions for reconstruction, capital repairs, maintenance of the automobile road, its preservation taking into account the prospects for the development of the highway1;
