Unified State Exam
The Unified State Exam is a state (final) certification of students who have completed the general secondary education programs, conducted in the form of the Unified State Exam (ceased to be in force as of December 1, 2007)1.
The Unified State Exam represents a form of objective assessment of the quality of preparation of individuals who have completed secondary (full) general education programs, using standardized test items (standardized testing materials), the completion of which allows to determine the level of mastery of the federal component of the state educational standard for secondary (full) general education. The Unified State Exam is conducted by the federal executive authority responsible for control and supervision in the field of education, together with the executive authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation performing functions in the field of education (ceased to be in force as of December 1, 2007)2.
The Unified State Exam is conducted in the subjects of the Russian Federation on general educational subjects, the list of which is approved by the federal executive authority responsible for control and supervision in the field of education, based on proposals from the executive authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation responsible for exercising powers in the field of education3.
