The land plot, on which the owner has renounced ownership rights - becomes, from the date of state registration of termination of ownership rights to it, the property of the respective subject of the Russian Federation - a city of federal significance, Moscow, or a subject of the Russian Federation - a city of federal significance, Saint Petersburg, unless laws of these subjects of the Russian Federation provide otherwise that such land plot is the property of municipal formations located on the territories of these subjects of the Russian Federation (ceased to be in force as of 2017-01-01)¹.
