Radioactive waste to be disposed of - radioactive waste for which the risks associated with radiation exposure, other risks, and costs related to the retrieval of such radioactive waste from a radioactive waste storage facility, subsequent handling of it, including disposal, do not exceed the risks and costs associated with disposing of such radioactive waste at its current location1.
