Federative Republic of Brazil — means the territory of the Federative Republic of Brazil, including its territorial sea as defined in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and the corresponding seabed and subsoil, as well as any maritime area beyond the territorial sea, including the seabed and subsoil in respect of which Brazil exercises its sovereign rights under international law for the exploration and exploitation of natural resources1.
