Lace - a decorative or ornamental openwork fabric, in which pattern elements (more or less complex), formed by interlacing threads, are connected either by cells of usually constant size and shape forming a visible openwork ground fabric, or by decorative loops that themselves create the effect of a pattern. Pattern elements and background made of cells or connecting loops are usually produced simultaneously, but sometimes pattern elements are manufactured separately and then joined
